Based in Hartlepool in the Tees Valley, The Northern Studios is the only large-scale commercial television and film studio facility in North East England.
The Northern Studios is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Northern School of Art – on the board of directors we have representation from the project funder, local council, and an independent director from the screen industry.

North East Screen
North East Screen (NES) is the North East of England’s screen agency.
They develop and champion North East England as one of the UK’s leading film and TV production hubs where exceptional screen industry talent can live, create and work.
NES support all incoming productions with crew, locations and facilities shooting anywhere in North East England through their Production Service. They work with Indie production companies based in the North East providing them with business and commission development support.
NES also offer talent and professional development support for home grown freelancers (writers, producers, directors and artist filmmakers). They connect experienced crew to job opportunities and, for those just starting out and wanting to work in film and TV, they run the North East Screen Crew Academy. Visit the Website
